On March 27, the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) released the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) proposed rule for fiscal year (FY) 2025, with the opportunity for providers to submit comments by May 28, 2024.
Of equal importance to inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), there are multiple changes that will be implemented after October 1, 2024, as a result of the 2024 IRF Final Rule. Understanding both IRF regulations is critical for providers to be able to comply with the IRF regulatory infrastructure and maintain financial viability in these times of change.
