Webinar Caring Smarter

People who choose a life of caring — and the organizations and communities they serve — deserve a special kind of support.

Meeting new compliance standards: The application of information blocking and ADT notifications

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) patient event notification Conditions of Participation (CoP) went into effect on May 1, 2021. Now, all inpatient behavioral health, inpatient rehabilitation, and long-term acute care providers must ensure their organizations understand what needs to be included when sending and/or receiving event notifications in order to comply with the CoP. This webinar outlines different ways to manage event notifications.

In addition, this webinar will explain how the Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (IT) information blocking rules impact day-to-day provider activities, so they are prepared to avoid potential allegations of information blocking.

This webinar will provide the necessary information to ensure providers remain in compliance with industry changes, helping providers avoid penalties that lower reimbursement.

During this webinar, attendees will learn:

  • Which entities that are subject to the information blocking regulation
  • What actions or inactions may constitute information blocking
  • Which organizations are impacted by the new CoPs and how they are impacted
  • Different ways to manage event notifications
