People who choose a life of caring — and the organizations and communities they serve — deserve a special kind of support.
Navigating cultural differences: Caring deeply for ourselves and others
On a daily basis, agencies must navigate cultural differences with caregivers, clients, patients, and family members. Knowing how to do this effectively can be challenging and sometimes overwhelming.
However, in order for us to deliver better care in a situation that requires navigating cultural differences, we must first identify our own unconscious biases before we can expect them to change. We must be able to move beyond the shame and fear that can arise when we misstep or struggle to understand others’ perspectives so that we can deliver the positive care experience that all individuals deserve—regardless of background.
Join Dr. Carla Cheatham, MA, MDiv, PhD, TRT, as she discusses how to practice looking at situations from others’ perspectives, with the ultimate goal of delivering the best care experience we can.
Watch the webinar to learn how to successfully navigate cultural differences with humility.
