On March 29, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed payment rule for hospice providers for fiscal year (FY) 2025. CMS proposed to increase payment to hospice providers by 2.6%, given the updated aggregated hospice cap amount of $34,364.85 (which is an increase compared to the FY 2024 cap amount of $33,494.01).
In a recent educational webinar from WellSky, hospice regulatory expert Katherine Morrison, RN, MSN, CHPN, covered key elements of the proposed rule, like new potential process measures for the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP), CMS expectations for hospice providers when adopting the new Hospice Outcomes & Patient Evaluation (HOPE) tool, and proposed changes to the hospice wage index.
That webinar is available to watch on-demand. Now, in this new tip sheet, Katherine provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about the FY 2025 hospice proposed rule.
