Webinar Caring Smarter

People who choose a life of caring — and the organizations and communities they serve — deserve a special kind of support.

The future of the Older Americans Act

As federal budget reconciliation efforts intensify, aging services face a pivotal moment. Join Kathy Greenlee, former administrator (and the first ever in the role) at the Administration for Community Living (ACL), and Abby Cox, Senior Director of Aging Policy at ADvancing States, for a timely webinar on the latest developments affecting the Older Americans Act (OAA). Key topics will include:

  • Restructuring of ACL: Learn how the proposal to integrate critical ACL programs into other agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) could affect OAA oversight.

  • Status of OAA funding: Congress has extended funding for aging services programs through September 30, 2025. However, proposals remain on the table that would cut funding for programs like nutrition services and senior employment.

  • Looking Ahead: Hear the latest on the FY 2025 Continuing Resolution (CR), the President's proposed budget for FY 2026, and how you can advocate to maintain spending to protect older adults in your community.
Just one year ago, leaders in aging services were scrambling to adapt to sweeping changes mandated by the 2024 Older Americans Act. Now a new era of transformation has created even greater uncertainty. Register for this webinar to gain clarity on the steps your program can take to prepare for the future.
