Webinar Caring Smarter

People who choose a life of caring — and the organizations and communities they serve — deserve a special kind of support.

Understanding the FY 2024 inpatient psychiatric facility final rule

On Thursday, July 27, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published the final rule for the Inpatient Psychiatric Facility (IPF) Prospective Payment System (PPS), effective for fiscal year (FY) 2024. The rule has many significant changes, from a market basket adjustment to allowing hospitals to bill for excluded IPF units anytime within the cost reporting year. These major changes will have financial impacts on behavioral health providers, so it’s important to understand these changes and start preparing to implement them now. In this webinar, we will discuss these changes and how the financial and access impacts may concern your organization.

Watch our webinar to learn more about:

  • IPF Quality Reporting metrics for reporting in 2025 and beyond
  • The updated IPF PPS calculations for payment to your organization
  • Opportunities, resulting from changes in the rule, for your IPF to reevaluate commercial agreements
