On Wednesday July 31, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the final Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) payment rule for fiscal year (FY) 2025. Highlights of this rule include an increase in Part A payments to SNFs, changes to the Civil Monetary Penalties, and more. CMS is also seeking feedback from providers on potential future changes to the Non-Therapy Ancillary (NTA) component under PDPM.

Scott has over 25 years of healthcare experience and has been recognized for his expertise on the RAI process and clinical reimbursement. Scott’s consulting work includes performing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement reviews and creating educational programs for skilled nursing facilities and multi-facility operators. He has testified as an expert witness in a large Medicare dispute case and has also assisted in corporate integrity audits and corporate compliance reviews. Scott is a member of the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN) Board of Directors, the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC) Expert Advisory Panel, is recognized as a Master Teacher through AANAC for their RAC-CT MDS certification courses, and sits on the board as the President of the Ohio Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.
