Certified Medication Aides – A valuable tool to explore for your long-term care staffing toolkit

Presented by Gina Cappitti, Business Development Manager | LeaderStat

Staffing shortages are impacting all areas of healthcare. Nurses in long-term care facilities are being asked to do more and more each day, which takes them away from the critical assessments and other technical aspects that need stronger focus.

The Certified Medication Aide can help to remove some of the time burden on nurses by picking up a large portion of the medication pass. With this taken off the nurse, it allows them to utilize their time towards clinical assessments, wound care/treatments, client teaching/training, improved documentation, and driving positive outcomes.

  • The nurse staffing challenges affecting the long-term care industry, and how Certified Medication Aides can be a possible solution.
  • How Certified Medication Aides are utilized in nursing homes and/or residential care facilities.
  • The benefits and risks of utilizing Certified Medication Aides.
