With more than 40 years of accounting experience, Don provides a variety of accounting and auditing services to nursing home clientele. He has extensive experience working with long-term care in the areas of audits, reviews, compilations, preparation of Medicaid and Medicare cost reports, HIPAA consulting, Affordable Care Act (ACA) consulting, third-party reimbursement, and preparation of income tax returns.
Scott Heichel brings over 25 years of healthcare experience and is recognized for his expertise in the RAI process and clinical reimbursement. Scott’s consulting work includes performing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement reviews and educational programs for skilled nursing facilities and multi-facility operators. Scott has experience in and has testified as an expert witness in a large Medicare dispute case and has also assisted in Corporate Integrity audits and corporate compliance reviews. Scott is a member of AANAC’s (American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination) Expert Advisory Panel, recognized as a Master Teacher through AANAC for their RAC-CT MDS certification course, and sits on the board as the President of OANAC (Ohio Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators).
Melissa has nearly 12 years of experience working in healthcare, primarily in long-term care. She has devoted her nursing career to educating and training nurses to use evidence-based practice. Melissa currently holds a multi-state license, CPR instructor certification, level one Medication Aid Instructor certification, and certifications in diabetic/nutrition, Intravenous (IV) therapy, and wound care. As a product manager for WellSky, Melissa provides clinician-based knowledge to the product development team to ensure WellSky Long-Term Care products adhere to industry best-practices, ensuring the best possible outcomes for residents.
