November 28, 2019 was an important date for skilled nursing providers. This date marked the final phase of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) new Requirements of Participation (RoP) for long-term care (LTC) facilities.
While the three phases of the RoP have been implemented incrementally, phase three has presented the heaviest lift for facilities. It is now time for facilities to demonstrate how their new processes and policies help staff respond and mitigate a variety of common risks.

Melissa has devoted her nursing career to educating and training nurses to use evidence-based practice. Melissa currently holds a multi-state license, and is a CPR instructor, level-one Medication Aid Instructor, and has certifications in diabetic/nutrition, Intravenous (IV) therapy, and wound care.
