There has been a recent uptick in cases of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) among people of all ages. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an average of 70,000 children ages 0-5 and nearly 180,000 adults over 60 end up in the hospital with severe RSV infections every year. Even worse, almost 8% of those older patients die from it.
