Around the same time, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) partnered with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to develop the first Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey to capture patients’ perspective of hospital care.
