Webinar Caring Smarter

People who choose a life of caring — and the organizations and communities they serve — deserve a special kind of support.

Examine 5 strategies state agencies and MCOs can use to enhance member outcomes

Recorded December 7, 2022

Millions of older adults and people with disabilities could not maintain their independence without the help of caregivers. When state agencies and health plans support the needs of caregivers, they allow individuals to live independently at home, improve health outcomes, and reduce healthcare costs.

Leaders from Elevance Health and WellSky spell out five promising practices based on input from advocates, to serve Medicaid and Medicare members more effectively:

  • Define roles of paid and unpaid caregivers to maximize outcomes
  • Use comprehensive, person-centered assessments to identify needs and personalize services
  • Equip care planners to support individuals and family, and caregivers
  • Prevent disruptive and costly incidents with thorough risk assessment
  • Provide necessary supports like assistive technology, socialization, and respite

Join Christina Mills and Patricia Nobbie from Elevance Health, and Abby Cox from WellSky, as they explain how caregiver support can efficiently and compassionately improve outcomes for older adults and people living with disabilities. Fill out the form to watch now!
