    CMS has announced that the Review Choice Demonstration will resume on August 3 even if the public health emergency continues.
  • COMPLIANCE | For-profit providers must pay taxes on Provider Relief Funds
    The IRS has confirmed that for-profit providers who receive Provider Relief Funds will be required to pay tax at the corporate rate.
  • CLINICAL | Reusable N95 masks developed
    Bioengineers from MIT and clinicians from Brigham and Women’s Hospital have designed an N95 that can be sterilized and reused.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE | Elective surgeries: hospitals are resisting the urge to scale back
    Many states put elective surgeries on hold early in the pandemic. With cases surging, many hospitals are taking a different course.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE | Independent commission to address safety and quality in nursing homes
    The Commission to Address Safety and Quality in Nursing Homes will assess the response to COVID-19 and provide recommendations to CMS.
