Findings from the latest NCI-AD™ report

The latest National Core Indicators — Aging and Disabilities (NCI-AD™) report was released in April 2024. The survey – a direct conversation with older adults and people with physical disabilities receiving long-term services and supports (LTSS) – which had over 15,000 responses across 18 states. Overall outcomes were positive in areas such as interactions with staff and person-centered planning. However there was also significant variation across states and settings regarding access to services, healthcare utilization, and community participation.

Rosa helps states use the core indicators to assess the outcomes of services provided to individuals and families, including service planning, rights, community inclusion, choice, health and care coordination, safety, and relationships. She previously served as the Director of LTSS Policy at ADvancing States where she worked on managed care, LTSS (long-term services and supports), ADRCs, (aging and disability resource centers) and NWD (No Wrong Door), long-term care ombudsman, quality oversight, and access to services.
Stephanie focuses on survey implementation methodology and techniques (including population-specific techniques), surveyor training, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, and user-friendly dissemination of information. She applies these skills to both the National Core Indicators (NCI) and National Core Indicators for Aging and Disabilities (NCI-AD) projects and leads training and quality assurance activities on both ventures.
