Webinar Caring Smarter

People who choose a life of caring — and the organizations and communities they serve — deserve a special kind of support.

Preparing for IRF-PAI 4.0: Why an accurate assessment of cognitive functioning matters

While the implementation of the IRF-PAI 4.0 is delayed, inpatient rehabilitation providers must start to understand how changes will impact the care they provide.

Section C of the IRF-PAI gives providers the opportunity to assess a patient’s cognitive skills, including attention, orientation, and the ability to register and recall new information. Under IRF-PAI 4.0, this section will receive a major overhaul. Because the assessment of cognitive functioning impacts quality treatment, reimbursement, and compliance, inpatient rehabilitation providers must understand the impact of the interdisciplinary team on the patient’s treatment plan.

In this webinar, expert rehabilitation consultants Jane Snecinksi, FACHE and Charlotte Geise, Ph.D. provide a comprehensive overview of the impact of these cognitive assessment changes.

During this presentation attendees will learn:

  • How changes to the IRF-PAI 4.0 will impact the assessment of cognitive functioning
  • What treatment strategies can be employed to ensure quality of care
  • The role of the entire interdisciplinary team in the patient’s treatment plan
