COVID-19 fatigue and the changing guidance from the CDC and other sources add to your staff’s stress and burnout. Therefore, it is crucial that administrators recognize the signs of stress and burnout and take steps to remedy these feelings amongst their staff.

Sherry Thomas, BS, RN, QCP, IPCO, has more than 34 years of experience working in healthcare. Sherry’s experience includes the entire continuum of care from acute care to many aspects of post-acute care such as sub-acute, skilled nursing, assisted living, hospice/palliative care, legal nurse consulting, and risk management. Sherry has a proven record of achieving excellent survey outcomes as well as Joint Commission accreditation in skilled nursing centers. As an RN Consultant at LeaderStat, her consulting work includes assisting nursing facilities in managing their day-to-day operations in regulatory compliance, development of plans of correction, guidance in facility preparation for resurvey, education and training, survey recovery, and clinical documentation requirements.
Melissa Tabor LPN, has nearly 12 years of experience working in health care, primarily in long-term care. Melissa has devoted her nursing career to educating and training nurses to use evidence-based practice. Melissa currently holds a multi-state license, and is a CPR instructor, level-one Medication Aid Instructor, and has certifications in diabetic/nutrition, Intravenous (IV) therapy, and wound care.
