Revisiting PDPM: How capturing Non-Therapy Ancillaries can impact your reimbursement

Non-Therapy Ancillaries (NTAs) are a critical component that determine reimbursement under the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM). However, capturing NTAs is not as straightforward as it seems. To ensure accuracy, skilled nursing providers must consider the strategic importance of the Assessment Reference Date (ARD), how the interdisciplinary team impacts Minimum Data Set (MDS) coding, and more.

In this tip sheet, reimbursement expert Scott Heichel reviews the basics of NTAs. He will also explain why your facility must implement a team-based approach to accurately capture the classification of your residents.
