Back on track: Using telehealth and outcomes data to market and reopen during COVID-19

Presented by Nikki Rasmussen, PT, Cert. MDT

Patients are often seen in a series in outpatient therapy to improve outcomes. Ensuring patients are engaged and involved in their prescribed plan of care is a challenge that many providers face under normal circumstances. The COVID-19 public health emergency has made patient engagement more challenging than ever.

Many states prohibited elective treatments, including outpatient therapy services, to slow the spread of COVID-19, forcing many outpatient locations to close their doors to patients. The impact: disrupted plans of care.

As states begin to lift social distancing requirements and shelter in place orders, elective surgeries, procedures, treatments, and therapies are starting again. While some patients may be eager to return to their prescribed plan of care, others may not feel safe or understand the importance of continuing their program.

Outpatient rehabilitation providers face an uphill battle as they attempt to re-fill their schedules. During state lockdowns, some facilities were able to continue to treat patients through a combination of telehealth and limited on-site visits. Others had to shut their doors completely. In both cases, limited hours have likely had an impact on patient care and the organization’s bottom line.

Though each organization may have handled elective therapy restrictions differently, every organization should implement a comprehensive marketing strategy and telehealth plan to ensure a successful reopening.

In this webinar, experienced therapist and clinical solutions consultant Nikki Rasmussen, PT, Cert. MDT explains how to effectively use marketing and telehealth. Attendees will learn:

  • How your facility plans on keeping patients safe during this uncertain time
  • Why outcomes data can help persuade patients to return to their prescribed plan of care
  • The keys to continuing to utilize telehealth services
