Telehealth’s wild ride: COVID-19 telehealth updates for rehabilitation providers

Presented by: Kelly Custer, JD, and Jeff Baird, JD

During the COVID-19 public health emergency, the government has issued an unprecedented number of waivers, regulations, and new rules focused on telehealth. These changes and additions have helped the healthcare system remove barriers to care, expand access to care, and put patients over paperwork.

While telehealth rules and regulations have been expanded, rehabilitation providers are happy to finally have been included. Early expansions of telehealth rules and regulations included commonly used rehabilitation CPT codes; however, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists did not make the list of approved provider types.

Finally, all the pieces have come together, and rehabilitation providers can bill for a variety of telehealth services.

This expansion has fundamentally changed the way you do business, and now, you’re building business plans that incorporate telehealth into your daily procedures. You’re also being forced to ask, “Is telehealth here to stay?”

In this timely, free, on-demand webinar, legal expert Kelly Custer, JD will discuss the vast changes to telehealth rules and explain what these changes mean for facilities and providers.

Attend to learn:

  • The most important changes to telehealth laws and rules that have been a result of the COVID-19 pandemic
  • How to best use telehealth services to improve patient access to necessary care
  • How telehealth can be used to build practices during the pandemic
  • How the future of telehealth will impact rehabilitation providers
