FAQ about the FY 2024 hospice final rule

Read the latest FAQ tip sheet from Katherine Morrison, MSN, RN, CHPN, Director of Hospice Consulting Operations at WellSky, to better understand the FY24 hospice final rule, which went into effect on October 1, 2023.

The CMS hospice final rule has increased hospice payments rates for fiscal year (FY) 2024 by 3.1%. Because of the higher costs to deliver care nationwide, CMS boosted the rate increase from the initial 2.8% that was proposed back in March 2023. However, hospice providers have raised concerns that this increase is still not enough given industry-wide staffing shortages, inflation, and other factors.

In a recent webinar, hospice regulatory expert, Katherine Morrison, MSN, RN, CHPN, provided details on the newly released hospice final rule and how it may affect hospice agencies. This webinar is now available to watch on-demandIn this new tip sheet, Katherine provides answers to frequently asked questions about the FY 2024 hospice final rule.
